Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event that recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs, offering information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe. This year, KCD was one of almost 2,000 businesses that participated.
Throughout the week, supervisors reviewed daily safety topics in their morning startup meetings and engaged associates during their workdays to show how the topics applied in a real-world setting. Staff enjoyed catered lunch at both distribution centers to show our appreciation for safe practices by our associates. The safety t-shirt design contest challenged associates to create a cool safety-inspired design. We were blown away with the design created by David Estrada, Assembly Lead at our Houston DC, illustrated below. David has serious talent! His winning design was turned into a t-shirt and handed out to the Houston team this week.
